The International Press Association/Association de la Presse Internationale in Brussels is seeking proposals from a qualified website developer to build a new website using WordPress, the current site (www.api-ipa.org) is based on the JOOMLA content management system. The website should support bilingual functionality in French and English and maintain the existing layout.
Design and Development
Create a visually appealing and user-friendly website design that aligns with the current layout of the existing site. It should be responsive and compatible with different devices and screen sizes.
Implement bilingual functionality to support content in French and English. The translations will be done by IPA, so there is no need for automated translation.
Integrate necessary plugins and widgets to enhance site functionality and user experience.
Optimize the website for fast loading and search engine visibility, including link to Google News.
Ensure cross-browser compatibility and validate the website against W3C standards.
Resolve any bugs or errors encountered during the testing phase.
Content Migration
Migrate the existing content from the current website to the new site. Please indicate if there is a separate cost for migration.
Ensure that all content is accurately transferred and displayed correctly in both languages.
Hand over and maintenance
Create a straightforward user manual for in-house ongoing maintenance and updates.
Offer ongoing technical support for a period of six months after the completion of the project for a set fee.
Provide a maintenance service, including security updates and bug fixes. This could be in the form of a small annual fee. We may choose to opt out of this at a later date.
API/IPA will maintain all ownership of the domain and website.
