Dear Colleagues,
Many of you knew and worked with Lénaïc Vaudin d’Imécourt. She was a talented, much respected and widely loved Brussels-based journalist specialising in international trade. She died tragically young just over two years ago.
I am asking for your help in informing young female journalists from across the European Union about the Brussels-based paid fellowships the Lénaïc Fund for Quality Journalism is offering.
The closing date for the next applications is 31 December 2017.
The fund provides a financial bursary of up to €5,000 for five months. Its third fellowship placement begins in March 2018.
It will be with MLex in Brussels, a news service specialising in reporting and analysing global policy and regulation.
The first beneficiary of the fund, Spanish journalist Maria Bofill, worked with MLex. The second beneficiary, German national Judith Mischke is currently working with Politico Europe.
The Fund
Lénaïc’s parents, Aulde and Charles Vaudin d’Imécourt, along with close friends of Lénaïc, established the fund in her memory. Its aim is to support young female journalists keen to develop their professional understanding of the European Union.
The fund is administered under the auspices of the King Baudouin Foundation, Belgium’s largest charity organisation. This ensures full transparency.
Applicants must be female EU graduates under 28 (the age Lénaïc died), aiming to work in EU journalism in Brussels, able to write in English and have a reasonable knowledge of a second EU language.
The Lénaïc Fund for Quality Journalism would be extremely grateful if you could give this information the widest possible circulation to potential beneficiaries through all your media and communication channels.
